Colossus is a British Drum and Bass artist, situated in the North of England. From an exceedingly early age his passion for music and creativity began to shine through and at the age of fourteen he was making his own music on his parents’ computer. With his musical interests heading towards the electronic world, he began focusing his practice towards Drum and Bass music in his later teen years.Shortly after leaving college and just before his move to Leeds, he had his first release with E-Motion Records with the help of Sensa (one half of Hybrid Minds) and the title track "Under the Weather" was promoted by Drum and Bass giants "Liquicity; This was the boost that Colossus needed as he began to release music with labels such as Soul Deep Exclusives, DNBB Recordings and Celcius Recordings. At the same time, he launched his own digital record label "Rush Records" with some local musicians, that they ran for four years as well as becoming resident DJ at Jungle Ham and Overflow where he has supported artists such as: Bad Company, Micky Finn, Andy C, Roni Size, Fabio & Grooverider, Technimatic, Serial Killaz, Blu Mar Ten, Lenzman, Commix, Hybrid Minds and many more.In 2013 Colossus had his first international shows in Antwerp, Belgium where he performed over the weekends at Gun Audio and Bass Circus, supporting Cyantific, BCee and LSB. In 2015 Drum and Bass staples "Hospital Records" released music from Colossus on their "Hospitality 2015" compilation and a year later he was featured again on Hospital's "We Are 21" compilation.Colossus then had a bit of a quiet period; he released his music, but it was apparent that he had become less active. It would have appeared that he had fallen off the map, but this would be an easy mistake to make. During his time away, Colossus has been honing his craft and studying towards new horizons and possibilities in his musical career, studying a masters degreein the art of music and moving image.Now in the present, 2020; Colossus is back and hungrier than ever; securing featured and forthcoming releases on Liquicity Records sister label " Galacy Records","Soulvent Records" and a new Autism charity labeled " Liquid Drum and Bass 4 Autism" as well as having an album in the works and many a collaboration with multiple artists in the scene.
